Questions & Answers
How to Troubleshoot an AVR/ECO/Internet/BC Model Tripp Lite UPS that is Intermittently Passing Power
On select models, the self-test feature allows the user to test the condition of the battery in the UPS. You should plan to run this test at least once a month. Please reference your owner’s manual for more information on how to perform a self-test on your unit.
In extreme cases, running the self-test could cause the UPS to shut down. On select models, a certain voltage range is required to maintain power to the unit. During the self-test, if voltage drops to an unusable range, the UPS could shut down. In order to avoid this, you should run a self-test at least once a month to detect a battery needing replacement. Please reference your owner’s manual for more information on how to perform a self-test on your unit.
